Amusement Technical expands range of rides with new additions l

UK ride manufacturer Amusement Technical has announced the addition of several attractions to its product range to supplement its existing, highly popular and successful range of children’s rides.

The company, which also provides a variety of specialist engineering services to the amusement ride industry, has added several larger products to its portfolio, all of which will be manufactured on site at its Preston, Lancashire, premises. Among these are a mid-size panoramic tower which will be offered at various heights up to 40m, a 20m Big Wheel, a monorail system and a dark ride transportation system.

The new attractions will add to the three children’s rides already produced by Amusement Technical, namely the Rodeo Trail, Jungle Safari and Honey Pot Bears, all of which have proved extremely popular with a variety of venues both in the UK and overseas. Indeed, a new coin-operated version of the Rodeo Trail, which can be operated without the need for a member of staff, has also been introduced, aimed in particular at smaller venues.

“The three rides we have manufactured up until recently have all proved very successful for us,” explained owner and director Sean Brian, “and I am looking to take that success a stage further. We have all the skills and expertise in house to produce a variety of other attractions too, so have added these new rides to our product range to make full use of this while also filling what I see as a few gaps in the market. I’m sure that the extended range we are now offering will be well received and, coupled with the extensive after sales, refurbishment, repair and other services we provide, will move the company forward considerably.”

In addition to the new rides on offer, Amusement Technical has also introduced an upgrade package for all Pinfari roller coasters, of which there were over 300 built. The package includes a dual redundant lap restraint system in accordance with PREN 13814 and a new control system based on modern technology and compliant with the UK’s HSG 175. The remodelling of coaster cars/trains is also being offered.

“There are still a large number of Pinfari coasters in operation both in the UK and elsewhere,” noted Brian. “A lot of people are finding that the control systems on them, for example, are not compliant with current standards and when they break them down many parts are obsolete. We believe there is therefore a need for upgrades to cater to operators with these rides, so have developed various packages for this market.”

As a specialist manufacturer of its own range of amusement rides and attractions, Amusement Technical’s capabilities cover every aspect of production, which is complemented by a full ride repair and refurbishment service. The expertise on offer covers all the skills required to repair or refurbish to an ‘as new’ condition individual ride components or complete rides, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and civil engineering disciplines, with the work being carried out either in the company’s own workshops or on site.
