Amusement Technical highlights ‘buy British’
campaign
UK amusement ride manufacturer
Amusement Technical is promoting a ‘buy British’
angle to its sales campaigns as the company seeks
to take advantage of the low exchange rate
between sterling and the euro.
Owner and director Sean Brian is one of a number
of UK based manufacturers looking to benefit from
the current low pound to euro rate and believes
it is an ideal time for operators in the Eurozone
to be considering what is available from UK
companies, as well as being an excellent
opportunity for UK buyers to take advantage of
the products and services on offer on ‘home
ground.’
“This is a great opportunity for UK manufacturers
supplying countries in the Eurozone,” explained
Brian. “Current exchange rates mean we are
offering products and services at a much lower
price than our continental counterparts and we
are looking to take advantage of this by
promoting the fact to operators.
“On the other hand, it also means that for UK
operators products sold from within the Eurozone
are going to be considerably more expensive, so
it makes sense for them to look closer to home
for new attractions and support services.
Amusement Technical already has a well
established range of products and services on
offer and we are currently adding several more
rides to this. Hopefully operators will see the
benefits they can take from this situation and
recognise the fact that the UK has a lot to offer
the amusement ride industry.”
Amusement Technical’s product ranges includes a
number of children’s and family rides, such as
the Rodeo Trail, Jungle Safari and Honey Pot
Bears, with more recent additions to the
portfolio being a mid-size panoramic tower, a Big
Wheel, a monorail system, a dark ride
transportation system and Wave Swinger. All are
manufactured at the company’s premises in
Preston, Lancashire, in north west England, while
Amusement Technical also provides a variety of
specialist engineering and refurbishment services
to the ride industry.
“Up to now we have enjoyed much success with the
Rodeo Trail, Jungle Safari and Honey Pot Bears
and the new additions to the range will give
customers more options for a wider age group.
With the currency situation as it is, it is an
ideal time for us to add to our range in this way
and hopefully operators from abroad will take
advantage of this, while those in the UK will
also come to us instead of going elsewhere.”
As a specialist manufacturer of its own range of
amusement rides and attractions, Amusement
Technical’s capabilities cover every aspect of
production, which is complemented by a full ride
repair and refurbishment service. The expertise
on offer covers all the skills required to repair
or refurbish to an ‘as new’ condition individual
ride components or complete rides, including
electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and
civil engineering disciplines, with the work
being carried out either in the company’s own
workshops or on site.
